52 Week Challenge & Engagement Photo’s
It’s been a very busy summer. That’s okay because our summer weather finally just arrived and it’s already into the month of August. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we learn to count our blessings AND count the few days of warmth we get as among the highest of blessings.
I’m continuing along in the 52 week challenge. Adam, my son who actually suggested the idea, isn’t doing so great at keeping up the challenge. He has the best of intentions but somewhere through the week the intentions fall away into the daily fun of life and the photo’s never get done. That’s okay; one day he’ll decide what is worth his time and stick with it.
In the mean time, I have continued to be challenged by the project and am loving the journey with several friends. Our Phototastic 52 group on Flickr has openings for anyone who wants a photography challenge and an avenue to practice and grow.
This weeks theme was “From an Objects Point of View”. I had many thoughts but, as seems to happen, time gets away and I have to let the more time consuming ideas go.
This was one idea of showing the clothes washer’s point of view as the lid closes and the water begins to fill. Obviously, I avoided the water filling part but I did give a go at the idea of having the laundry detergent falling into the tub. It was going along great until I realized there were drops of detergent landing on my lens. End of that idea!
One of the other ideas I had was showing the perspective of cheese being grated in a cheese grater. This was an easier one however I discovered cheese landing on my lens when I glanced down after holding the grater over the camera. I’m thinking I may need to look at water AND food proof lenses in the future.
Apart from the 52 week challenge keeping my creative juices flowing, I had the loving pleasure of photographing Dalton & Haley’s engagement photo’s yesterday. I love that girl and have know both she and Dalton for most of their lives. It was a joy to be part of their lives in this way and I’m looking forward to their wedding coming up soon.
Enjoy the remaining days of your summer and make every effort to capture those memorable moments with photo’s that will transcend time for your family.
